"As my first 'professional short' I am very proud of the film. This is in part due to the central performance of Lindsey Readman, who trusted in my vision and gave everything to the role. But then it was a role that came naturally to her - she had lived it, as a middle-aged woman of great beauty who has had to live with societal and familial pressure for most of her life.

 

Having observed the pressures my single-mother had lived with, I wanted to tell a story in honour of her strength. BELLE is that film."
